Goal! Malaysia won SEA Games 2011 Final Football Match against Indonesia.

I think this totally deserves a post here. Congratulation to Malaysian football team for having successfully maintained the first position in South East Asia in football sport. That is a great job of winning the final match against Indonesia an hour ago, when it was still 21st November 2011 night, after scoring 4-3 penalty kick wins. And yes….that means another gold medal for Malaysia in the medal tally of 2011 SEA Games in Palembang and Jakarta, Indonesia which is going to end tomorrow.
I seldom watch football matches which are favourite to many boys. Since I have had already sat in front of the TV in around 8.30pm, and so, time for a bit of football, to show support for Malaysia. Of course, I did not completely watch the whole match, and I reserved my time specially for the last part, the most crucial moment, when it is turn for penalty stage to decide the winner. It’s 1-1 draw in the 90 minutes match, and there are two uncounted goals due to faults, each by both opponents, in the extra time of 30 minutes…and so, the most exciting part came; PENALTY!
This part, I purposely came out of my room to watch it. Just a few minutes, but it is definitely heartstopping moment at that point of time, not only to the approximately 100 000 audiences in the stadium, but also to people at home watching TV, to people watching on public streets, and personally to myself too. It’s been long time since the last time I get so excited on a sports competition. It’s 3-3 draw in the final stage of penalty kick while Malaysia still had one more opportunity. Then, the goalkeeper had been able to have contact with the ball rolling in, but not able to grab it, and so….the ball roll its way into for goal! GOAL! What a luck for Malaysia! I thought it couldn’t make it as the goalkeeper already had it, but then he can’t stop the ball from rolling in. Too bad for Indonesia. It seems that the fate wanted Malaysia to continuously top SEA Games in football for two editions.
That’s great. I can see a very ‘down’ atmosphere inside the stadium filled with red-shirts as the supporters of their country, Indonesia. Some even started to have tears including the Indonesian players themselves. It’s not the end of the world, right? Anyway, Malaysian football team really do proves themselves to be improving, but still there are much space for improvement if they want to step even further to Asian Games stage or even to Olympic. Ahh…my Facebook home page as expected, is again flooded with this news of Malaysia winning, and I even update a status on that too…haha…just to join the happening atmosphere even in cyber world itself. So many people are cheering, and even screaming, after each goal, especially the final penalty goal that brought the winning point to Malaysia.
Holiday? Many Malaysians are requesting for a public holiday tomorrow (which means today). Huh…a holiday just for a win in SEA Games? Is it serious? Are Malaysians really that lazy? Anyway, even if it’s holiday also, there would be no effect on me. We can only consider that if we win gold medal for Olympics, which is way much harder than this one. So, I really don’t think it’s appropriate and necessary for having a holiday tomorrow for this win. Yes, it’s really hard to get the gold medal in this football match, but does that appears to be more essential than the nation’s progress even in one single day? Anyway, it’s still a great news and a proud moment for Malaysia. Malaysia do certainly ‘BOLEH’ at certain time.
