Synopsis:

The klpac String Ensemble’s August concert is one in a regular series of concerts held by the talented group of young musicians. A community-based ensemble, the klpac SE plays a diverse range of music ranging from classical favourites to folk music, and even show tunes. It is the klpac SE’s intention to appeal to as broad an audience as possible with the intention of bringing the joy of music to all listeners.

Regular attendees of the klpac SE’s concerts will recognise some familiar tunes in the upcoming concert, but should also expect to be surprised by the inclusion of several new pieces. For the first time, the klpac SE will perform all four movements from Mozart’s Eine Kleine Natchmusik (A Little Serenade)—a well known and much beloved composition by arguably the best-known composer in the world. Classical music aficionados will also find charming interpretations of popular pieces including Strauss’ playful Die Fledermaus and Grieg’s dramatic Piano Concerto in A minor.

In addition to its classical repertoire, the klpac SE is aiming to surprise a few people with their rendition of several contemporary pieces. On the programme list includes the ensemble’s take on The Promise of the World from 2004’s runaway anime hit Howl’s Moving Castle and I Could Have Danced All Night from the classic musical My Fair Lady.
