It’s what fellow Malaysians have been waiting for – the boldest, loudest, most intense 12th Pioneer Digital DJ Battle. This year’s showdown promises to be the best so far, depicting a number of brilliant individuals with their full-fledged talent and skills on display. And the battle will reach its climax this 5 December 2014 at Zouk KL, where we witness the crowning of a brand new champion.

The Inception
The idea of the Pioneer Digital DJ Battle was conceived by a group of passionate, audio-savvy Pioneer ProDJ executives, with aspirations to uncover new blood in the world of DJs. Setting foot in Malaysia since 2003, the Pioneer Digital DJ Battle has since transformed into a star platform to discover exceptional new talents.

The Countdown
With many quality entries received this year, it was certainly a tough call for the judges. Though there were many strong talents, the judges had to narrow the selection down to 18 semi-finalists. From the 18 semi-finalist, only top 5 finalists eligible to enter the Grand Finale and they are A-Marq, DJ Elf,Faith, Kyori and Silent. Each finalist would then be entitled to 20 minutes to impress the judges with their song selections, mixing & scratching skills, techniques, audience response as well as overall showmanship. What’s left is of course the thrill and anticipation of witnessing the best of the best battle to claim the title of champion.

With celebrity judges such as DJ Victor G, DJ Anowl, DJ Blink and last year champion Ben Cracko alongside Mr. Raymond Lee, General Manager of Pioneer Malaysia, the 2014 Pioneer Digital DJ Battle is set to blast the evening away with some serious glitz and glamour.

Just last 18 October 2014, one of the judges and last year’s champion, Ben Cracko, represented Malaysia for the Pioneer Digital DJ Battle Asia Championship’s 2014 in Manila, Philippines and won the first runner-up title against contestant from Australia, Cambodia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

The Mighty Glory
Organised by Pioneer and participating sponsors such as JUICE (Official Magazine), PUMA (Official Apparel), PUMA TIME (Official Timepiece), GATSBY (Official Hairstyling), 8TV (Official TV Station) and Heineken, the Top 3 winners will be in for a fantastic treat – Attractive prizes including cash and a wide range of latest Pioneer DJ equipment models, totalling up to RM35,000!

Champion: 2 x CDJ Player (CDJ-2000NEXUS), 1 x DJ Mixer (DJM-2000NEXUS) and RM2,000 Cash Prize
1st Runner-up: 1 x DJ MIXER (DJM-900SRT)
2nd Runner-up: 1 x DJ MIXER (DJM-750-K)

Exciting prizes aside, the peak of the glory is that the new champion of the Pioneer Digital DJ Battle will earn the chance to move on to next year’s competition to defend his title. Here, he has the opportunity to win full glory by battling on the international stage at the bi-annual competition, Pioneer Digital DJ Battle Asian Championship 2016.
