Preliminary round circuit venue :
(Choose one Preliminary venue for qualification to get into Grand Final round)

Prelim 1 - 12/5/2013 (The Summit USJ, KL )

Prelim 2 - 26/5/2013 (Time Square, Pulau Pinang)

Time : 12.00pm to 5.00pm


(Please NOTE that prelim in Summit Segamat is CANCELLED.. For those who are from Johor and still interested to join this dance competition, kindly pm me on fb.. We would do some arrangement for you to attend the prelim round in KL.. thx~)


GRAND FINAL :

DATE: 1st of June 2013 (Saturday)
VENUE: The Summit USJ, KL.
TIME: 12pm - 5pm

(The CHAMPION team of The Stage Malaysia Vol.1 will be represent Malaysia and compete in The Stage South East Asia Vol.1 on 13th July 2013.)

Group Prizes : Champion – RM 4000 cash money
1st runner up – RM 2000 cash money
2nd runner up – RM 1000 cash money
3rd runner up – RM 500 cash money

Solo Prizes : Champion – RM 1000 cash money
1st runner up – RM 500 cash money
2nd runner up – RM 300 cash money
3rd runner up – RM 200 cash money





Eligibility :
THE STAGE VOL.1 is open to group and individuals with ALL ages.. All Malaysian, permanent residents and foreigners are eligible to take part.

Rules and Regulations
1. Composition of a Group: The Group must consist of a minimum of 3 (three) to a maximum of 5 (five) members.
2. Participation Limit: Contestants are allowed to compete in no more than one group. However, each contestant can compete in 2 different categories (Group and Solo).
3. Contestants are registered on a first-come-first-served basis. All registration forms must be completed, signed and submitted by (day & date). Registration comes with a fee of RM10.00 per person.
4. No cancellation is allowed after submission of registration form. There will be no refund of registration fees should you or your group withdraw or no show.
5. Entry Changes or Substitutions: For circumstances beyond the control of the group member(s), substitutions of contestants in the team may be made. Such circumstances must be brought to the attention of the Event Organiser immediately and is subject to approval. Only one replacement, addition (max. 5) or reduction (min. 3) of contestants is allowed throughout the competition.
6. All contestants must adhere to and be willing to perform on the competition dates scheduled by the Organiser.

8. Top 4 scoring groups and soloists in all preliminary round will qualify and compete in THE STAGE VOL.1 ( Grand Finals) on Saturday, 2nd June 2013, held at The Summit USJ (Subang, K.L).



Format of Competition :

Group Category
1. Each group is required to showcase a dance performance to the music of their choice without explicit, vulgar and lewd contents in both the preliminarys round and Finals. Otherwise, the group will be disqualified.
2. Types of Dance: Street Style, Street Jazz, Waacking, Reggae Dance,Hip Hop, Breakdance, Popping, Locking, New School, New Jack Swing, House, etc. This competition emphasizes on dance versatility.
3. Duration of each dance item must not exceed 3 minutes for the Auditions and it must not exceed 5 minutes for the Finals. Participants will be penalized should they exceed the time limit.
4. Contestants are allowed to change their dance choreography and music at each round of the competition.
5. All groups are to provide their own music (in CD format), costumes, hair styling and makeup.
6. Order of performances for the competition(s) will be determined by the Organiser through random selection.

Solo Category
1. Each soloist is required to showcase a dance performance of not more than 2 minutes to music of his/her choice without explicit, vulgar and lewd contents for the Preliminary round and finals . Otherwise, the soloist will be disqualified.
2. Types of Dance: Street Style, Jazz, Street Jazz, Waacking, Reggae Dance, Hip Hop, Breakdance, Popping, Locking, New School, New Jack Swing , House, etc. This competition emphasizes on dance versatility.
3.All soloists are to provide their own music (in CD format), costumes, hair styling and makeup.
4. Contestants are allowed to change their dance choreography and music at each round of the competition.
5. Order of performances for the competition(s) will be determined by the Organiser through random selection.


Performance Requirements:

1. All groups and soloists must provide their own tracks in CD audio format during the Heats and
on the day of the Finals. Groups and soloists to provide two CDs (one for backup).
2. The routine must be performed, in its entirety, to music selected and prepared by the group or
soloist.
3. The contestant’s name(s) and category must be written on the CD.
4. Please submit the following information to the Organiser upon request:
i. Group / soloists Name
ii. Track number

5. Props – Usage of props is allowed but requires approval from the Organiser. However, props that
may jeopardize or affect the performance and the safety of fellow contestants are strictly not
allowed. Dangerous props such as usage of liquid, fire, smoke, sharp objects, etc, are also not
allowed.
6. Attire – Inappropriate/Improper attire will be a violation and teams may be penalised or
disqualified.
7. No vulgarity, obscenity, or aggression is allowed in this competition.
8. ALL groups and individual must register and report themselves at the Registration Counter at 12pm on the Preliminary 1 on 12th May 2013 (K.L.), the Preliminary 2 on 19th May 2013 (Segamat, Johor)
,the Preliminary 3 on 26th May 2013 (Pulau Pinang) and on the Grand Final round on 2nd June 2013.
9.Participants who do not turn up or are late for the Finals will be deemed disqualified.



Other Rules and Regulations:

1. The judges’ and Organiser’s decision is final and no further correspondence will be entertained.
2. Product prizes are non-negotiable, non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
3. In the event of any extraordinary circumstances where the group performance is affected and
could not proceed (e.g. music problems due to technical fault, disturbances caused by equipment
failure such as lighting, stage or sounds etc), the Organiser will assess the situation and may ask
the group to re-perform. Claim of an extraordinary circumstance presented by the group after the
performance will not be accepted or reviewed.
4. The Organiser, including all sponsors or third-party suppliers involved in this event, will not be liable for any loss of personal
belongings of the contestants, accidents, injury or damage incurred during the event.
5. The Organiser reserves the right to use any photographs or films taken during the event for use
exclusively in the Organiser’s marketing and publication materials, without obtaining further
consent from all contestants.
6. Participants who do not comply with the above Rules & Regulations or have submitted inaccurate
information will be disqualified at the sole discretion of the Organiser. Other Rules & Regulations
apply. No further correspondence will be entertained.
7. Due to varying copyright laws, the Organiser does not guarantee that a contestant’s music will be
used at live events, on television broadcasts or other media outlets. The Organiser reserves the
right to ask the contestant(s) to replace the music for one that is acceptable or to substitute a
contestant’s music for another piece of music of the Organiser’s choice for such situations.
