Synopsis:

Step aside SNL, Little Britain and MADtv: The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre’s sought-after sketch-comedy revue returns this year with its biggest and boldest installment to date! Premiering in 2010, INDICINELIVE! (in-dee-SEE-nee-live-!) satirizes the insane society we live in through a high-octane line-up of every-day characters, familiar situations, and parodies of songs we’ve heard and are all too familiar with. INDICINELIVE! is, essentially, a generous serving of how we see the world in fun-sized pieces – nothing quite like laughing at ourselves at the end of the day.

Founded and directed by klpac’s former director-in-residence Kelvin Wong, INDICINELIVE! played to packed houses and sold-out shows since its inception, with after-requests for second and third helpings in Kuala Lumpur, Melaka and Singapore. INDICINELIVE! IV marks its premiere in Penang, spreading the much-anticipated revue up north!

1. Revival of a great brand, after 3 years of hiatus, indicinelive! is making a come back, to once again satirizes the crazy society we live in through a high-tempo sketches and song parodies on characters/situations that we are familiar with.

2. Best of INDICINELIVE!, this revival show will feature more than 20 best sketches from the past, some with enhancements, and many still relevant (fortunately or unfortunately) to our current state of living. Audiences that watched past episodes can definitely look forward to some familiar characters and song/sketches.

3. Hari ini dalam sejarah, this show is not just going to be a simple rehash of past sketches, but there will be new element/device that tie all the sketches together.

4) Combining the old and new, we will be bringing in some alumni along with new blood for this Revival Show. One is to ensure that we have a fresher perspective when rehearsing for the sketches, and two is to make this show as a precursor for future episodes. Nurturing new talent for sketch comedy is essential.

5) Another comedic outlet, ultimately one of the main objectives of bringing back INDICINELIVE! is to provide Malaysians with another outlet for comedic relief. After all, we have suffered enough last (and currently this) year. It's important to let loose a little, and INDICINELIVE is really the right instrument in presenting real world serious issues in a light-hearted manner, in bite-sized chunk.
