Synopsis

Sand, is a musical set in 16th century Rajasthan, India. This production is in English featuring beautiful songs in a wide variety of genres, a rich array of dance sequences, a storyline that is a relatable tale of happiness, heartbreak, unshakeable friendship - and the relentless march of time towards destiny.

The songs are wonderful on their own, but they also fit perfectly with the dialogue-styled lyrics complemented by the quick lines of the script that run throughout the play - brisk, funny, and occasionally serious. The actors’ lively, charismatic personalities (and hilarious one-liners) add to the characters they play, as well as the atmosphere of the story; and the dances, beautifully - and, at parts, amusingly - arranged, were choreographed by an experienced dancer from a contemporary background, and will be performed by a mix of young and seasoned dancers.

Sand is an original production by Indigo Soul Project.
