Synopsis

Pearls for the Picking is a performance of 3 stories inspired by real life stories and experiences of people living and working in George Town. The stories - "Kanineh", "Sampah" and "Legacy" are performed using devised text, movement and sound in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin to depict fictionalized accounts of 3 individuals' lives and their relationships with the city. The stories were collected by the performers themselves. This re-stage performance is aimed to raise fund for 6 members of the group to fly to Nanning, China to attend the CHINA-ASEAN Theatre Week in September 2015.
